Music and arts education is essential to helping students succeed in life.

Students who are actively involved in music and arts activities are better prepared to manage stressful situations at school, understand the values of community and teamwork, and realize their full potential through creative thinking and problem solving.

School of Music
Wednesday | 5:00 to 7:45 p.m.

Grades: 3-12

School of Music Night will take place on Wednesdays, August 24 – December 7, January 18 – May 10. Recital concerts will take place on December 11 and May 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Transportation is available for students that live in Clearwater and Dunedin. The Salvation Army employs qualified drivers trained to drive children to and from their homes.

You will be able to request pick-ups for your child via the School of Music Night Program application (link below).


Schedule:

4:15 p.m. | Home pick-ups begin

4:50 p.m. | Children being transported by parent/guardian arrive

5:00 p.m. | Dinner

5:30 p.m. | Classes begin

7:45 p.m. | Classes end | Home drop-offs and parent/guardian pick-ups begin


Program Wish List:

  • Monetary donations are needed to help ensure The Salvation Army is able to continue providing this program free of charge to children.
  • Volunteers are needed to help provide dance, vocal or brass music instruction.


Parent/Guardian Commitment:

A student’s success in the School of Music is dependent upon the support he/she receives at home. We see students and parents/guardians as equal partners within the program.

  • Parents/Guardians are expected to attend a mandatory orientation meeting.
  • Parents/Guardians are expected to attend two parent booster meetings during the year, and to attend their child’s performances at School of Music recitals.


Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment for your student.

You will receive a confirmation from the Performing Arts Director once your application has been processed.
