|If the client is sent directly from court, what is the procedure once he/she gets to the probation office?
After entering the office, the client is asked to sign in. The receptionist provides client with grievance procedure and statutory conditions of probation forms which he/she is read over prior to the assigned counselor calling the client into her individual office.
|How does the client set their next appointment?
All clients have the option of selecting their own appointments from a 3′ x 4′ calendar displayed in each individual counselor’s office.
|How does the client cancel an appointment?
Appointments may not be cancelled without a replacement being set. All rescheduling must be done in person and require a 24 hour advance notice unless otherwise agreed upon by a counselor. No appointments may be rescheduled by anyone other than the client him/herself.
|What should the client bring to the first appointment?
Since first appointments are directly after the client’s court appearance, all court orders and notice to reports are brought with them. Any other required identification or other required documents are brought to the client’s 2nd appointment. Reporting information for juveniles – requires immediate reporting after court appearances. |What forms will need to be completed at the first appointment?
Both statutory conditions of probation and the grievance procedure are explained to the client, which they are asked to sign and date. The documents are printed on NCR paper. The original is given to the client and the copy is placed in the respective client file.
