THE SALVATION ARMY OF BROWARD SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES ITS ANNUAL, OBSTACLE RACE FUND-RAISER
The 11th Anniversary Edition of the MOST Amazing Race
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (May 25, 2017) – On Saturday, May 13, 2017, The Salvation Army held the 11th Anniversary Edition of the MOST Amazing Race fund-raiser in downtown Fort Lauderdale. All proceeds from this charity event stay locally within Broward County, and will go to support individuals and families facing homelessness and other social issues.
On that Mother’s Day weekend, thirteen teams went on a quest throughout the city to face challenges and to solve clues at multiple locations for points. Each teams’ strategy was to try to out maneuver and outrun the other for the top spot and to be crowned the 2017 MOST Amazing Race Champions.
The teams set off from Esplanade Park to as many of the challenge locations as possible within the 3.5 hour timeframe for the race. The tasks included biking, fitness and running challenges, solving puzzles, half-court basketball challenges, paddle boarding on the XL Ride board for 4 – 8 people, blindfolded food challenges, and lots more!
Prizes went to the teams that finished in the Top 3 (The V Team – 1st Place; Protiviti Team #1 – 2nd Place and The Bridge Way Group – 3rd Place). “One of the best things about the MOST Amazing Race is that there are no real losers,” said Greg Jackson who is Special Events and Community Relations Coordinator for The Salvation Army. Jackson went on to say, “every individual crossing the finish line received a commemorative medal.”
The Salvation Army wishes to thank Fast Printz, Rip it Energy, MBAF and Keno Brothers Jewelers for their continued commitment to the race and The Salvation Army. Logos for other participating organizations and event supporters are below.
