Majors Tim and Cheryl Gilliam oversee all programs (both social services and ministry) administered by The Salvation Army in Lee, Hendry and Glades counties.
Salvation Army officers for nearly 20 years, Majors Gilliam have served as Corps Officers (pastors) in Texas and Area Commanders in Waco, Texas. They have also overseen divisional youth services in Maryland and in West Virginia. Prior to their move to Fort Myers, the Gilliams served four years in St. Petersburg, Florida, where Major Tim was Area Commander and Major Cheryl was the Corps Officer at the St. Petersburg Citadel.
Majors Tim and Cheryl, and their three children – Jacob, serving as Salvation Army corps Assistant in Tyler, Texas; Ashleigh, a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University; and Michael, a seventh grader – are enjoying this time in Fort Myers and Southwest Florida.
"We love our ministry as Salvation Army officers," commented Major Tim Gilliam. "We're always excited to see what the Holy Spirit is going to do next, because we enjoy serving and bringing hope into the lives of those in need."
