The officers for the Martin County Corps are Captains Samuel and Christine Kim. Captain Samuel received a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Korea Baptist University/Seminary in South Korea, and a Master of Theology (M.Th.) from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary in Virginia. Captain Christine Kim received Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Social Welfare from Korea Baptist University and worked at a social service center in Korea as a social worker. She recently received her Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling.
They were married in Korea in 1999 and came to the United States in 2001. When God called them to become officers in The Salvation Army, they entered the School for Officer’s Training in Atlanta, GA, in 2006 with the session, “God’s Fellow Workers.” They were ordained and commissioned in June, 2008. Prior to coming to Stuart, they served appointments to the Hernando County Corps, FL, for three years and the Venice Corps, FL, for three years. They have two children, Joseph and Sarah.
Our Advisory Board is a team of Martin County professionals dedicated to the mission of the Salvation Army. The Board strives to further the Army’s goal of “doing the most good” while maintaining responsible stewardship of the Army’s resources.
