Volunteering

One of the most valuable assets that we enjoy here at The Salvation Army of Melbourne is our volunteers. Without the selfless giving that our volunteers provide we would be limited on the work that we could do. There are many ways that you can donate your time here in Melbourne.
  • We have events throughout the year that need additional hands such as the Kids2Kamp Kickoff in May or the Fall Festival.
  • We have a food pantry where volunteers work to sort and organize the food that comes in.
  • Opportunities to work at the Family Store are available occasionally.
  • Before school starts we supply students in our area with school supplies and volunteers work to put together backpacks filled with school supplies.
  • Thanksgiving and Christmas meals are served to the community. Volunteers can help to serve and visit with guests.
  • Our Youth Program is in need of volunteers to teach children music, tutor in school subjects, and supervise activities.
  • Our transitional shelter, The Sue Pridmore Center, holds instructional group from the women of the shelter. Volunteer group leaders in many topics are welcome. Previous topics have included: Zumba, yoga, self-defense, healthy eating, couponing, resume writing, interview skills, motivation, stress reduction, meditation, etc.

Anyone interested in Volunteering must FIRST complete an application and background check. To volunteer please contact the volunteer coordinator at 321-724-0494 or click the Apply Now button.
