The Salvation Army began in 1865 as the East London Christian Mission. As so many of those to whom they brought the message of the bible were out of work and destitute, The Salvation Army became involved in helping those in need to get back on their feet. This two-fold purpose, to help individuals spiritually and physically, is still at the heart of The Salvation Army as week seek to go about doing the most good.
In addition to the Social Service and Community Center work available during the week, The Salvation Army of Sanford has a Sunday School and Worship Service on Sundays and a Bible study on Tuesdays. Additional youth and senior activities, such as camps and retreats are planned during the course of the year we invite you to join us.
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.
