Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of the program pertaining to all housing, facility maintenance, nutritional needs of the children, as well as addressing medical needs, vehicle logs, food, clothing, furniture, educational, vocational assistance. Ensures that the facility and all program matters follow established Salvation Army mission and policies and procedures. The Program Director will work closely with interviewing prospective children for admission to the program, determines eligibility, adhering and implementing strict guidelines for reporting incidents, and proper documentation is kept. High level of confidentiality for protection of the children and is responsible to report any negligence or suspected abuse in accordance to The Salvation Army’s policies and procedures and the employee manual.
Office management, training of employees, maintaining all certification updates for employees, maintenance and approval and entry of payroll, and employee time sheets. knowledge, communication, interpersonal skills. Provides leadership in the community and will be responsible to do public speaking as needed. The Program Director should have experience and knowledge in issues of domestic and sexual abuse, crisis intervention counseling. This position does require knowledge and practices of trauma informed care in children.
This job will require flexible work hours including some evenings and weekend hours. Availability for hours and shift coverage will be required as needed. There are times the job will require some discomfort in weather conditions associated with noise. The position does require a high level of attendance, ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
This position does require a Valid Florida driver’s license, acceptable driving record per The Salvation Army’s vehicle Insurance requirements. It is a requirement to have and obtain on a consistent basis certification in CPR, First Aid, and all other required training classes needed for continuation of compliance. This job does require a full background screening, drug test, FBI fingerprinting check, FDLE criminal check, local law checks, driving history, child abuse and neglect registry check.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
And/or Bachelor’s degree accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an minimum two years progressively responsible experience in administering and developing social service programs. Or/ any equivalent combination of training, education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all the required job duties.
