  • Description:

    Provides child care services for preschool, elementary and high school aged children in a group foster care setting.  Provide learning and developmental activities and programs; prepares and maintains records; meets with Leads and Case Managers to discuss progress of children. Utilizes positive parenting practices in dealing with negative behaviors of children. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of property. Provides for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.  Participates in opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both indoor and outdoor learning activities.  Maintains positive working relationships with community-based care staff, school officials, health care providers, and other service providers as appropriate.

    Required KSAs:
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development; knowledge of the principles and practices of early childhood curriculum
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of CPR and First Aid
    • Ability to nurture children
    • Ability to plan, develop and implement effective programs and activities
    • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language; ability to observe children and ensure their safety; ability to use/operate general office equipment, playground equipment, kitchen equipment, recreation equipment and computer.
    • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
    • Ability to pass local, state and federal criminal history checks as outlined by Florida statutes.
    Required Education:
    • High school diploma or G.E.D. required, AND two (2) years’ experience with children in a social welfare, church, shelter or related environment OR any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Description:

    Answers the phone in a courteous and professional manner. Directs all calls to the appropriate destination; records accurate and completes messages when necessary; receives and receipts deliveries and donations; greets and announces visitors and clients; provides general information about The Salvation Army’s operations and services; performs routine clerical work such as typing, filing, scanning, shredding, use of computer programs such as Microsoft office and Word, as well as e-mail. Assists in small clerical office projects. Is responsible for providing accurate logging of visitors and volunteers as they enter and exit the building. Will do small data entry projects and all other duties as assigned and needed. Candidate should be able to multi-task a phone system, direct visitors and maintain a calm and friendly presence.
