The Salvation Army offers a wide array of community programs to help cultivate brighter futures. Along with community centers dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of moms, dads, and kids, we provide summer camps for kids, after-school and summer programs for students of all ages, support for expecting and new parents, and numerous music, art, and athletic programs for aspiring youth.

Our Grand Rapids state-of-the-art Kroc Community Center gives families a chance to discover new skills, passions, and hobbies while connecting with friends and neighbors. Each facility offers after-school programs, recreational opportunities, and community programs.
We bring children into an environment where the learning continues long after the bell rings. We operate an affordable after school program at the Kroc to give kids a safe place to play, learn and grow. During a time where they could otherwise be at risk, we open our doors to kids for growth in literacy, sports, arts, music skills, and fun.
The Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope initiative provides individualized services to families with children who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty in addition to The Army's history of compassionate serving. By helping families overcome challenges like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we can lead families down a path toward increased stability and, ultimately, self-sufficiency.
