Emergency Assistance Services

We help those facing difficult times by providing aid whenever possible. 

Our programs provide Financial Assistance and other aid to Collier County residents who meet certain criteria.

Emergency Social Services programs available include:

 

Financial Assistance

(Rent / Utilities)

Bring original documents and valid ID to complete all paperwork needed for assistance.
Financial assistance is provided once in a 12-month period.

Make sure to bring the following with you to get started:

 

  • Original Drivers License- OR -
  • Original State-Issued Photo ID
  • Other items on the list(s) below

 

Photocopies cannot be used.

 

 

*Rental Assistance:

(amount to be determined)

 

  1. Valid ID
  2. Proof of 3 months payment prior to requesting assistance
  3. Landlord to complete and sign W-9 and any other required documents (no photocopies accepted)
  4. Picture ID with Collier County address (3 months residency is required)
  5. Valid Social Security cards for every person in the home
  6. If not working: medical documentation from a doctor or Termination of Employment Letter
  7. Proof of income (pay stubs, disability check stub, unemployment or AFDC check stubs)
  8. Copy of Lease

 

*Requires Committee approval and proof that you paid a portion of your rent. Checks are issued twice a month.

 

 

Utility Assistance:

 

  1. Valid ID (FPL requires Social Security card for all adults in the home)
  2. Final Notice of Electric or Water bill
  3. Proof of 3 months payment prior to requesting assistance
  4. Copy of Lease
  5. If not working: medical documentation from a doctor or Termination of Employment Letter

 

 

 

Items that DO NOT qualify for assistance include:

 

  • Security Deposits
  • Last Month's Rent
  • Utility Deposits
  • Accrued Late Fees
  • Daily Late Charges
  • Transfer Charges

 

There may be other requirements as determined by The Salvation Army's Social Services Director.

To help us serve you, be sure to bring original Photo ID and documents.

Our goal is to provide exceptional service. If you or your family need financial assistance with your rent, mortgage, electric or water bill, please call 239-210-4009 to schedule an appointment to complete paperwork with a caseworker to determine eligibility. Making an appointment ahead of time will help our caseworkers secure resources and give prompt service.

Clients seeking grocery orders, vouchers and seasonal programs will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
