Senior Services
The senior demographic of our population is growing, and The Salvation Army has several programs designed to meet their needs.
Nutritious meals are available for seniors at Salvation Army congregate meal sites. Additionally, opportunities for fun, fellowship, lifelong learning and volunteer service are found at many Corps Community Centers throughout San Francisco.
Other programs for older adults include Silvercrest Residences, which provide low-cost, independent living for senior citizens.
Check with your local Program Center for more information.

Not everybody has time to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in the Tenderloin. If you're too busy to volunteer daily, if you work downtown and can't get away, even if you're on the road playing baseball (like SF Giants infielder Charlie Hayes) -- The Salvation Army invites you to Adopt-a-Grandparent. The Meals That Heal Program in the Tenderloin has expanded to include friendly visits, birthday/Christmas cards and phone calls.
