Who We Are
The Salvation Army is a Christian church. The social service programs you may know us for show our Christian faith and commitment in action. Our slogan "Heart to God, Hand to Man" is an expression we use to demonstrate our attitude. The Salvation Army in San Francisco operates six community centers and ten support facilities located throughout the city to provide a broad range of safety-net services to meet the needs of the community.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
